Frequently asked questions
How much does this cost?
Asking is free and carries no obligation. If you engage the solicitor, their fees are agreed between you and them, and they must give you a written costs notice under section 150 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015. No solicitor pays DivorceWise for introductions, which section 62 of the Solicitors Act 1954 forbids. See how this site earns on the disclosure page.
Who will see my details?
Only DivorceWise and the solicitor firm. The form collects your name, email, what it is about, where you are in the process, how you want to be contacted, and a phone number only if you give one or ask for a call. You can ask for deletion at any time.
What happens next?
Your enquiry reaches the solicitor within a minute. They contact you, usually within one business day, the way you asked. Whether you go further is your call.
Should I check legal aid first?
If your disposable income is under €18,000 and your capital under €100,000 (not counting the family home) you may qualify for legal aid, which is a different route. The legal aid estimator gives a first reading and links to the Legal Aid Board.
I am not safe at home. Is this the right form?
No. If you are in immediate danger call 999 or 112. Women's Aid (1800 341 900, 24 hours) and Men's Aid (01 554 3811) can talk you through safety, barring and protection orders, which are free to apply for in the District Court and carry no legal aid contribution. The Quick exit button at the top of the page leaves this site at once.
